Job summary

Job description

Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc., (AMT) is an employee‑owned ENR 500 A/E firm that provides civil engineering, construction management, traffic design, water and wastewater systems, environmental resources, and landscape architecture services. We offer a hybrid work schedule with up to two days from home each week and the opportunity to work from our Towson, MD; Rockville, MD; Mechanicsburg, PA; or Herndon, VA offices.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution (Required)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in roadway, highway, and traffic control plan preparation
• Engineering‑in‑Training (EIT/FE) preferred
• Experience with Microstation Open Roads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co‑workers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of projects that may involve collection of data, existing condition and alternative analysis evaluation for engineering reports
• Develop horizontal and vertical alignments
• Perform cross‑section and superelevation design, roadside barrier design, ADA curb ramp design, and roadway modeling
• Provide design support for erosion and sediment control plans, stormwater management plans, right‑of‑way plans, utility relocation plans, permit application drawings, and traffic related plans
