Job summary

TYLin is seeking Transportation/Traffic Engineers in Ewing, New Jersey to advance safety improvement programs and mobility for all surface travel modes. You’ll contribute to crash analyses, safety recommendations, and multi-stakeholder coordination on state, county, and municipal projects.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 3–5 years of design experience, and EIT certification, with preferred PE/AICP/RSP credentials. NJDOT design guides and standards are used daily.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years of transportation/traffic engineering design experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • PE, AICP, and/or RSP certifications preferred.
  • Experience with NJDOT Roadway Design Guide, MUTCD, and AASHTO Green Book.
  • Experience with NJDOT Complete Streets Policy; Safe System Approach/Vision Zero concepts; HSM; PROWAG/ADA Standards; NJDOT HSIP and/or SHSP publications; NACTO publications.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as in-house augment staff providing guidance on State, county, and municipal projects.
  • Conduct crash analyses and develop data-driven safety recommendations.
  • Support and manage safety-focused programs and initiatives.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and coordination.
  • Develop safety targets, KPIs, and summary reports.
  • Contribute to Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) activities and implementation.
  • Review HSIP assessments and performance plans.

What You Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of transportation/traffic engineering design experience.
  • Required certifications: Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
  • Preferred certifications: PE (Professional Engineer), AICP (Certified Planner), RSP (Road Safety Professional).
  • Experience with NJDOT Roadway Design Guide, MUTCD, AASHTO Green Book
  • Experience with the following is a plus:

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $74,400 - $111,600 annually for this position and local market. We recognize that each candidate brings a unique set of skills, experience, education and competencies to the table that will be reflected in our offer.
