Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Junior Level Transportation Design Engineer with 3-4 years of experience to join our Nashville, TN team. You will be mentored and trained by technical experts in transportation design while contributing to roadway design plans, reports and analyses.

Working with OpenRoads, MicroStation and office software, you will support projects in traffic operations, safety and transportation planning, grow professionally, and collaborate with a dedicated staff across Tennessee.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• EIT Certification preferred.
• 3-4 years of experience in transportation design or related field.
• Experience using OpenRoads and MicroStation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual designs and construction plans using OpenRoads.
• Develop geometric design of highways and streets and drainage design.
• Prepare transportation planning reports and traffic engineering studies.
• Create EPSC plans and related documentation.
• Support use of OpenRoads, MicroStation, and office software.

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Junior Level Transportation Design Engineer with 3-4 years of experience to join the team in Nashville, TN. In this position, you will have the opportunity to be mentored and trained by technical experts in the field of transportation design.

With the support of one of the industry's leading technical and professional staffs, you will assist our growing transportation design and traffic engineering group in Tennessee in the preparation of roadway design plans, engineering reports, studies and analyses in a wide range of areas (e.g. traffic operations, safety and transportation planning projects).

This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow professionally while working on a wide variety of projects alongside a dedicated and experienced staff.

Role accountabilities:

• Prepare conceptual designs and construction plans utilizing OpenRoads design software
• Create engineering design including geometric design of highways and streets, drainage design (hydrology and hydraulics)
• Complete transportation planning reports, roadway safety studies and general traffic engineering projects
• Complete Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control (EPSC) plans
• Use various software platforms including Microstation, OpenRoads and related design & office software

Desired Skills/ Attributes:

• Proficient in the use of MS Office tools such as Excel, Word & Powerpoint
• Basic understanding of the application of geometric and traffic operations principles including AASHTO, MUTCD, and state DOT requirements/policies

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or another closely related field

• EIT Certification
• Experience using OpenRoads
• 3-4 years' experience

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $90,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
