Job description

Overview

Purpose: Assures for a safe and timely transportation of students/participants to and from the Agency's organized services and appointments.

Responsibilities

• Assists in loading and unloading students/participants.
• Responsible for monitoring maintenance and cleaning of the vehicle.
• Maintains transportation logs.
• Ensure all students/participants enter and exit the bus/van in a safe manner and provide assistance if needed.
• Foster and maintain good rapport with students/participants, guardians, housing locations, and care providers.
• Ensure all walkers, canes, crutches, and step stools are stored properly before movement of the vehicle.
• Inspect vehicle twice daily to ensure safe and clean conditions and mechanical readiness; document inspection and submit vehicle condition reports.
• Review the daily transportation schedule with the Program Director.

Requirements / Certifications

Applicants need to have a valid Driver’s License and be able to provide a copy of a clean MVR. Must maintain an acceptable driving record, reliable transportation, adequate auto insurance, and be insured by an agency carrier. Applicants must be committed to being a positive role model with children and youth. Provide a satisfactory fingerprint from DHS Bright from the Start and annual CPR and First Aid certification.

Position Specification

• Education: High school graduation or equivalent
• Special Training: CRP/1st Aid

Part-Time Bus Driver (18-passenger bus or 6-passenger van) to assist with picking up and dropping off students/participants to and from our center between the hours of 2:00pm - 4:00pm or 4:00pm - 8:00pm.
