Job summary

Consolata Rehab & Wellness seeks a dependable CNA transportation team member to provide safe, timely transport and assist with resident mobility. The role requires maintaining vehicle safety and routine PMs, and collaborating with staff to ensure quality service.

Applicants must have a High School diploma or GED and a valid driver's license; CPR preferred and CNA certification is required. Prior experience with older adults or physically challenged populations is favored.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for providing safe, timely and reliable transportation, delivery of services and conducting routine vehicle maintenance.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs daily transportation and delivery services according to assigned schedules and routes as dispatched.
  • Assists passengers on and off the vehicle and aids in loading and unloading bundles, packages and passenger belongings.
  • Responds to Resident/Participant inquiries, requests and complaints within scope of authority and refer unresolved matters to supervisor.
  • Performs pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Monitors condition of equipment and reports malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance and repairs according to PM schedule and safety regulations.
  • Maintains a neat, clean and safe vehicle.
  • Other duties as assigned.
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years unencumbered driving record required, preferably with an older adult, physically challenged population.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Must have a current, unrestricted driver’s license in the state which employed.
  • Must have an unrestricted class “C” driver's license if company vehicles are in “C” class.
  • CPR Certification preferred for AL; required for LTC upon hire, or within thirty (30) days of employment.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certified. Pereferred.

  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Position is Category II of Potential Exposure, which includes tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, but may require performing unplanned Category I tasks (expected exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues). OSHA Blood borne Pathogen Standard 1910.1030(c)(2)(i) more specifically defines Category II Potential Exposure as: Normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues but exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment.

  • Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) should be readily available to employees engaging in Category II tasks.
  • Work is generally performed in an indoor, well-lighted, well-ventilated, heated and air- conditioned environment.

  • Subject occasionally to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, staff, and visitors.
