Job summary

Damar Services is seeking a dedicated Transportation Driver to safely transport residents to their destinations and support the community’s well-being. You will contribute to a mission-driven team and help ensure timely, safe transportation in Marion County.

The role requires a valid Indiana driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass pre-employment screenings. Damar offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth within a respected nonprofit

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of transportation experience required.
• Minimum age of 18 per licensure requirements.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier.
• Be clear of any felony convictions or substantiated charges of neglect.
• Pre-employment drug screen and physical required.
• Background screening must be satisfactorily completed.

Responsibilities

• Navigate and travel throughout Marion County to ensure timely transportation.
• Ensure safe and reliable pickup and delivery of residents to designated locations.
• Complete pre- and post-trip reports for each trip.
• Maintain documentation that is accurate and legible.
• Complete and update mandatory training and licensure items timely.
• Regular attendance and adherence to safety guidelines.

• Navigate and travel throughout Marion County to ensure timely and efficient transportation
• Ensure the safe and reliable pickup and delivery of residents to their designated locations
• Completes pre and post trip report for each trip
• Completes thorough pre- and post-trip reports for every journey, documenting relevant details accurately
• Prioritizes duties in a manner consistent with organizational objectives and growth
• Completes and updates mandatory training and other licensure related items in a timely manner

What you need to be considered:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 6 months of previous transportation experience required
• Minimum age of 18 per licensure requirements
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
• Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
• Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical
• Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening

Essential Job Functions

The essential functions of this position require the physical ability and mobility needed to perform the job. This includes the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods; occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.; operate office equipment, including a computer keyboard; travel to other locations using private or commercial transportation; and communicate effectively to exchange information.

The position also requires the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to client behaviors, staff instructions, safety concerns, and emergencies in an environment where individuals may display aggressive, self-injurious, sexually maladaptive, elopement, or other unpredictable behaviors.

Regular and acceptable attendance, excluding approved absences and periods of leave, is also an essential function of the position.
