Job summary

Hearthstone is seeking a Transportation Aide to support residents in loading and unloading from facility vehicles and to accompany them to scheduled medical appointments and activities. You will also help maintain the vehicle fleet and keep maintenance logs current, ensuring safe transfers and a positive community image.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and CNA training with CE to maintain certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be 25 years old or older.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.
• Familiar with GPS and local driving area.
• No Traffic Crimes in the last 7 years; passes drug screen and background check.
• Must have CNA training and maintain CE to maintain certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with loading and unloading from facility approved vehicles.
• Ensures safe transportation to medical appointments and activities.
• Maintains interior and exterior of facility vehicles; keeps fleet clean and presentable.
• Monitors vehicle maintenance logs and arranges routine maintenance.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Must be flexible with work time when appointments run late.

Job description

Reports to: Activities Director

Full Pay Range: $16.28-$21.50

Assists residents with loading and unloading from facility approved vehicles.

Ensures the safe transportation of residents to scheduled medical appointments or other approved activities, resident outings, etc.

Maintains the interior and exterior of facility vehicles to promote safe and comfortable transport for the residents and project a positive image in the community.

Monitors vehicle maintenance logs and delivers vehicle for regularly scheduled maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, etc.

All other duties as assigned.

Must be flexible with work time (in the event a resident appointment or activity runs late).

Must have training and be able to return demonstrate safe clinical based transfer techniques for:

• Ingress Egress of Mobile Patients with Van Transfer of patients into and out of Wheelchair
• Properly securing WC bound residents into bays in Vans

Must be able to lift transfer and mobilize patient weights of up to 70 pounds by self in confined areas inside Van.

Must be able to make complex decisions involving highly dependent patient base.

Supervisory Requirements

This position has no supervisor responsibilities.

Qualification

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or a GED
• Minimum - 25 years old
• Must have a valid DL
• Must be familiar with GPS and local driving area.
• No Traffic Crimes in the last 7 years.
• DUI, DWS, Reckless Driving, No Traffic Felonies Multiple DUI, or DWS, Leaving Scene with Injuries, Assault with Vehicle Not more than 2 moving violations in 3 years Not more than one accident in 3 years
• Pass a drug screen and background check

• Ability to read, write and understand job related instructions and manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers, and residents.

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to solve practical problems.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the Microsoft Suite products.
• Must have successfully completed CNA training and maintain all CE to maintain certification.
