Job description

Summary:

Drives a tractor-trailer and loads and unloads trucks.

Essential Functions:

  • Loads and unloads tanks from inbound or outbound freight as needed.
  • Loads and services shipments properly and safely.
  • Inspects all loads to ensure cargo is secure.
  • Reads, reviews, and completes DOT permits, bill of ladings (BOL), and related paperwork.
  • Records arrival and offload times for all deliveries.
  • Reports any incidents immediately to the supervisor.
  • Maintains trucks, trailers, and all equipment used, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Wears all personal protective equipment (PPE) at customer locations and when required.
  • Assists with yard duties when waiting for loads.
  • Arrives at destinations on schedule.
  • Performs all duties safely and in a timely manner.
  • Plans for traffic, construction, and weather delays.
  • Conducts pre-trip inspections accurately.
  • Keeps mileage and repair records up-to-date.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • At least one year of driving experience.
  • Professional interaction with colleagues, supervisors, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
  • Excellent navigation skills and proficiency with navigation apps.
  • Consistent attendance.
