Job summary

Mission Senior Living is seeking a Transportation Driver to escort community residents to medical appointments, activities, and errands using the on-site vehicle. The role requires maintaining mobility schedules, prioritizing resident safety, and assisting with emergency or unscheduled transport when needed.

The ideal candidate holds a valid state driver’s license with a clean record, can handle long periods of driving or standing, and adheres to universal precautions for health and safety.

Qualifications

• Has current state driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Able to spend long periods on feet or driving, and to react quickly in any situation.
• Physical Demands: Push, pull, and lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to bend, squat, and climb stairs.
• Ability to continuously walk or stand.
• Universal Precautions: Potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids and diseases.

Responsibilities

• Transports community residents to and from medical appointments, activities, and shopping using a community vehicle.
• Reads transportation schedule daily and ensures all appointments can be met.
• Encourages residents to schedule at least 24 hours in advance and plans around designated days.
• Duties include flexible handling of unscheduled transportation needs and emergencies.
• Completes routine vehicle inspections and reports maintenance or safety issues.

Job description

Successfully meets all requirements of Transportation Driver position, including Driver Record report; meets and completes ongoing training and driver requirements.Transports community residents to and from medical appointments, activities, and shopping errands using community-owned vehicle.Reads the transportation schedule daily and makes sure all scheduled appointments can be met. Encourages residents to schedule at least 24 hours in advance of any needed appointment. Reminds residents that medical appointments, activities and shopping are to be scheduled on designated days whenever possible.Is flexible for unscheduled transportation needs in an emergency.Revises schedule accordingly in order to stay with and assist residents who are unable to access community and appointments independently.Completes routine periodic vehicle inspection check, and informs Administrator of any maintenance problems or safety issues that need to be addressed.Is thoroughly familiar with fire, missing persons and other emergency procedures; Follows community policy and procedures detailed in fire and disaster plans.All other duties that assigned by any member of management.Ensuring resident safety by loading, transporting and unloading.Job Qualifications:Has current state drivers license and acceptable driving record.Able to spend long periods on feet or driving, and to react quickly in any situation.Physical Demands:Ability to push, pull, and lift at least 50lbs.Ability to bend, squat, and climb stairs.Ability to continuously walk or stand.Universal Precautions:Potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids.Potential exposure to communicable diseases.
