Job Overview

The Transportation/Distribution Router is responsible for developing cost-effective routing solutions in the Greater Los Angeles area, ensuring high customer satisfaction, and complying with DOT regulations. The role involves route analysis, planning, collaboration with warehouse and fleet teams, and continuous improvement of routing strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze routes and schedules for optimization and consolidation.
  • Plan vehicle scheduling, resource allocation, and dispatching.
  • Develop efficient routes and ensure customer service standards.
  • Coordinate with warehouse operations for truck loading and routing.
  • Integrate vendor pickups into routing plans.
  • Collaborate with the Fleet Team to match vehicles with delivery needs.
  • Review and improve routing procedures, control costs.
  • Communicate with warehouse and dispatch teams regarding schedules and issues.
  • Maintain routing systems and generate reports.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT hours of service regulations.
  • Perform other related activities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of JDE, Roadnet, AS-400 systems.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills, load dimension knowledge.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Availability for shifts starting around 1 pm, with 8-10 hour shifts.
