Job summary

ISG is seeking a Transportation Design Engineer to join our Transportation team in the Midwest. You will design, review, and deliver roadway projects, aligning with WisDOT standards and client expectations.

You will collaborate with project managers and engineers, prepare drawings and specifications, and contribute to cost estimates and construction administration. A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and 5+ years of transportation design experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in civil engineering
• 5+ years of transportation design experience
• Knowledgeable in Autodesk Civil3D software
• Must demonstrate the ability to present complex technical concepts to engineers, clients, and public stakeholders
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Must be a self-starter with good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well within a team to meet project schedules and deadlines

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and analyze data on roadway/ transportation engineering projects
• Prepare studies with associated drawings, maps, reports, and supporting documentation
• Calculate quantities and prepare construction cost estimates.
• Prepare construction drawings
• Prepare specifications
• Conduct site visits and report findings to supervisory engineers and/or project managers
• Assist project managers and more experienced engineers in ensuring project/task schedules and budgets are met
• Coordinate with team members to ensure timely and accurate document or drawing preparation
• Occasional travel may be required
• Other duties as assigned
