Job summary

Hawkeye Consulting Group in Hollywood, FL is seeking a Design Engineer to join the Transportation Division. You will contribute to FDOT roadway projects, prepare construction plans, develop 3D models, and draft engineering reports and specifications using MicroStation/OpenRoads and MS Office.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Civil Engineering, 1-5 years highway design experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Engineer Intern Certification preferred.
• 1-5 years of highway design experience required.
• MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer experience preferred.
• Familiar with FDOT CADD and Design Standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Superior organizational and interpersonal skills to work effectively as a team, develop and maintain client relations, meet project demands and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction plans and 3D models.
• Develop engineering reports and specifications.
• Coordinate with project teams and clients across state DOTs and municipalities.
• Assist in field surveys and occasional travel as needed.

Successful candidates will have experience in Florida's Department of Transportation (FDOT) roadway projects, possess high adaptability, technological proficiency, and a dedication to meeting client expectations. The role entails undertaking a broad range of responsibilities, requiring proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and the Microsoft Office Suite for construction plan preparation, development of 3D models, engineering report preparation, and specification development.
