Location: Houston, TX

We are actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Transportation Design Engineer (P.E.) to join our Houston-based team. This is an exciting opportunity for a licensed professional engineer to contribute to high-profile TxDOT roadway and traffic design projects across multiple Texas districts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the design of major and minor arterial roadway projects across TxDOT districts including El Paso, Austin, Fort Worth, and Yoakum.
• Develop roadway geometrics, typical sections, cross sections, super elevations, and removal plans.
• Create and manage 3D roadway models using OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and MicroStation.
• Produce traffic-related deliverables including signing and pavement marking plans using tools such as SignCAD.
• Perform quantity calculations, prepare construction plan submittals (30%, 60%, and 90%), and ensure TxDOT compliance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to meet project goals and timelines.
• Assist in training junior staff and contribute to QA/QC procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas (active or able to obtain by reciprocity).
• 4+ years of progressive roadway design experience, preferably on TxDOT projects.
• Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer (ORD), MicroStation, Geopak, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with TxDOT design criteria, project delivery standards, and PS&E submittals.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with vertical clearance calculations, barrier length of need, and bid item quantity development.
• Background in both roadway and traffic design.
• Eagle Scout or demonstrated history of leadership and community service is a plus.
