Job summary

Life Care Centers of America is seeking a Transportation Coordinator/Driver to load, transport, and unload patients for medical appointments and activity outings in a post-acute care setting.

Responsibilities include patient safety, excellent service, and collaboration with caregivers and other staff; candidates should have a high school diploma, a valid license, and preferably healthcare experience. CDL-P preferred for employment; CDL-C w/P endorsement is required after review.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license or CDL in current state with acceptable driving record.
• Prior healthcare/geriatrics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, transport, and unload patients to medical appointments and outings.
• Exhibit excellent customer service and positive attitude toward patients.
• Assist in evacuation of patients and work with an interdisciplinary team.
• Read, write, and understand English; maintain confidentiality and safety.

CDL – Bus drivers are to have CDL-P as a condition of employment, but are allowed to drive on a provisional basis with a CDL A/B/C or Permit (after review from Safety/Janice). The driver must have a minimum of a CDL-C w/P endorsement for our bus.

Position Summary

The Transportation Coordinator/Driver loads, transports, and unloads patients for medical appointments and activity outings in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license or valid commercial driver’s license in current State, as applicable, with a satisfactory driving record per Life Care standards
• Prior experience in health care or geriatrics preferred

Specific Job Requirements

• Complete pre inspections before use of vehicle
• Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
• Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
• Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation
• Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
• Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
• Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
• Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’sCode of Conductand completes mandatoryCode of Conductand other appropriate compliance training
