Job summary

Illumination Health + Home is seeking a Transportation Coordinator in Fullerton, CA to arrange driver schedules and transport services for clients. The role requires coordinating Lyft rides, maintaining transportation logs, and ensuring timely arrivals to medical appointments.

The position offers a Monday–Friday style schedule (Sunday–Thursday variant) with a $22/hour pay rate and agency benefits. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; valid CA license required.

Qualifications

• 1 year relevant experience.
• Valid CA Driver’s License and eligibility for company vehicle insurance.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to send and receive emails and summarize data in spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the schedule for drivers.
• Address last‑minute transportation needs for appointments.
• Maintain logs and monthly vehicle inspections.
• Manage Lyft coordination and transportation for medical appointments.
• Communicate transportation needs to management and site staff.
• Ensure vehicles are signed out properly and maintained.
• Transport clients and packages to destinations.
• Record mileage daily using beacon card.
• Keep vehicles clean and report issues to the transportation department.

Homelessness is the largest social and public health crisis in California. Illumination Health + Home is a growing non-profit organization dedicated towards disrupting the cycle of homelessness by providing targeted, interdisciplinary services in our recuperative care centers, emergency shelters, housing services and children’s and family programs. IHH currently has 13+ facilities with 22+ micro-communities scattered across Orange County, Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire.

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for transporting clients to and from appointments and exit destinations. Sending out daily schedule for the appointments entered in the calendar. Maintaining the maintenance on vehicles as needed.

The pay rate for this position is: $22 per hour. The working schedule is Sunday - Thursday, 9:00am - 5:30pm

Job Duties:

• Coordinate the schedule for drivers.
• Address any last-minute appointments that need transportation.
• Maintain any logs that need to be updated.
• Monthly spot check all vehicles.
• Responsible to coordinate all Lyfts a day in advance.
• Set up Transportation for all medical insurance.
• Print out reminder slips upon completion of the Transportation schedule.
• Communicates to management any transportation needs.
• Make sure that that all vehicles are being signed out properly.
• Works with IF staff on reserving company vehicles.
• Address any questions that may arise throughout the day.
• Will be the contact person for any Transportation appointment needs.
• Review transportation calendar for accuracy and ensure detailed information is provided as needed.
• Coordinate and manage time to ensure all Clients arrive at their appointments on time.
• Work with site staff (case management and/or medical) to ensure clients are reminded of their transportation appointment(s).
• Research and plan for traffic, construction and weather delays by use navigation applications to determine the best route.
• Use the beacon card to record all mileage daily.
• Transport clients and/or packages to and from destinations.
• Sanitize & remove all trash from vehicle(s) after each trip.
• Check vehicle(s) prior to transport to ensure the vehicle has gas and is ready for use.
• Work with Culinary Staff to ensure brown bag meals are provided to clients who will miss meal time(s).
• Track and submit all required documentation as indicated to the transportation department including but not limited to gas receipts, incident reports etc.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean vehicle by weekly washing and vacuuming vehicle(s)
• Responsible for completing weekly inspection and mileage reports.
• Report to Site Supervisor during downtime to assist with facility tasks
• Notify Supervisor and Associate Manager of Transportation regarding any issues during transport.

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1years relevant experience.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to send and receive emails and summarize data in spreadsheets.
• Valid CA Driver’s License and eligibility for company vehicle insurance.

Preferred:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Proficiency in Google Suite (Mail, Docs, Sheets, Calendar).
