Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a Transportation Construction Manager for a major PennDOT project in Southwestern Pennsylvania. The role involves supervising inspection teams, coordinating field activities, and ensuring compliance with plans, permits, and safety standards.

Responsibilities include preparing reports, reviewing schedules, and communicating with agencies and contractors to address issues. Strong supervisory experience and PennDOT-related certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 8+ years of roadway construction inspection experience.
• Knowledge of roadway construction techniques, reading plans, procedures, methods, equipment and materials.
• Supervisory experience in construction management/inspection situations.
• Ability to act as the project Inspector-in-Charge.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance of plans, contract documents, specifications and standards.
• Review and maintain project documentation detailing progress, environmental permits and safety compliance.
• Prepare inspection reports, work authorizations and estimates.
• Notify contractor of non-compliance and corrective action.
• Attend meetings, assist with change orders, and provide progress updates to the client.
