Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI)

Base pay range

$20.00/hr - $35.00/hr

RIG Consulting Inc. is currently seeking qualified Transportation Construction Inspectors (TCI) for Highway and Bridge projects in District 2 in McKean, Potter, Elk, Cameron, Clinton, Clearfield, Centre, Mifflin & Juniata Counties in Pennsylvania. Hourly rate starting at approximately $20-35/hr depending on qualifications, education, and certifications. RIG offers additional benefits such as Night Shift Incentive and Long-Distance Drive Incentive, which can increase earnings. Primary responsibilities include:

  1. Performing routine inspections to ensure proper materials and construction processes are used.
  2. Reviewing inspection drawings.
  3. Documenting daily activities.
  4. Maintaining project documents and files.
Essential functions include:
  • Traveling across various terrains.
  • Reading, writing, and speaking English clearly.
  • Using electronic devices and software systems.
  • Safely maneuvering around traffic and equipment.
  • Reacting immediately to hazard warnings.
  • Using protective equipment responsibly.
  • Physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, crawling, twisting, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Traveling to inspection sites.
  • Working outdoors in various weather conditions and exposure to chemicals within SDS limits.
  • Working extended hours and being on call as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years of PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike, or related transportation construction or paving experience.
  • Previous P3 experience preferred.
  • GED or high school diploma required; degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
  • Preferred certifications: NECEPT bituminous and concrete, ACI, NICET Level 2 or higher in Highway Construction, CDS, NextGen, KAHUA.
