Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI)

RIG Consulting Inc. is seeking qualified Transportation Construction Inspectors (TCI) in the District 5 area (Schuylkill, Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, and Northampton).

The hourly rate ranges from $20.00 to $35.00, depending on qualifications, education, and certifications. RIG offers additional benefits such as Night Safety Incentive and Long Distance Drive Incentive, which can increase your paycheck.

Primary Responsibilities include:

• Performing daily inspections to ensure proper materials and construction processes
• Reviewing inspection drawings
• Documenting daily activities
• Maintaining project documents and files

Essential Functions:

• Travel across various terrains
• Communicate clearly in English (reading, writing, speaking)
• Use electronic devices and software systems for data management
• Operate safely around traffic and equipment
• React promptly to hazard warnings
• Use protective equipment responsibly
• Physical activities: sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, crawl, twist, climb; lift up to 50 pounds
• Work in various environmental conditions and extended hours as needed

Requirements:

• Minimum two years of PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike, or related transportation construction experience
• GED or high school diploma (degree in Civil Engineering preferred)

Preferred Certifications:

• NECEPT (bituminous and concrete)
• ACI
• NICET Level 2+ in Highway Construction
• CDS NextGen
• KAHUA

This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
