CONSTRUCTION SERVICES PRACTICE

Michael Baker International's Construction Services team supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent throughout all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out. We provide qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers, estimators, and safety experts. As new technologies evolve in the construction industry, innovative ideas are essential to deliver successful projects.

DESCRIPTION

We are actively seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector for a multi-year highway reconstruction project in Pennsylvania. Under the supervision of the Project Supervisor, the inspector will monitor and document that drainage, roadways, and structures are built according to plans and specifications. Responsibilities include:

  1. Inspect various aspects of work on-site
  2. Document site activities using PennDOT PSA and other applications
  3. Take field measurements and perform calculations
  4. Prepare inspection reports
  5. Verify proper materials and construction processes are used
  6. Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and provisions
  7. Perform other duties as assigned
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • At least 2 years of experience on a PennDOT highway project
  • Knowledge of PennDOT systems including ECMS, PSA, VSIR, and MC-Docs
  • Basic math skills for length, area, and volume calculations
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and procedures
  • Availability for various shifts, including nights and overtime
  • Overnight travel may be required
COMPENSATION

The estimated pay range is $21/hr to $35/hr, depending on education, experience, and location. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications.
