Job Description

Drive Engineering Corp. is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors at the TA-1 and TA-2 levels. The inspector will ensure project compliance with contracts, standards, and specifications.

Responsibilities
  1. Inspect traffic-related items (OH Signs, Message Boards, Guiderail, etc.) for new installations and repairs.
  2. Inspect grading, surfacing, and drainage structures for quality and adherence to plans.
  3. Calculate material quantities and work performed.
  4. Operate instruments, document activities, and perform computations.
  5. Conduct basic tests on soils, asphalt, cements/concrete, aggregates, bituminous products, and coatings.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of construction or ITS inspection experience.
  • Preferred: Experience with PennDOT or Pennsylvania Turnpike.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • NICET, NECEPT, or ACI certification preferred.
Work Environment

Fieldwork on construction sites, involving driving, walking, bending, climbing, and kneeling. Exposure to light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic. May include lifting up to 50 lbs.

Salary Range
  • TA-1: $16.40–$21.22
  • TA-2: $21.22–$24.97
Job Details

Full-time, 40 hours/week, non-exempt. Typical workdays Monday through Friday, with possible nights or weekends. Local travel, with some overnight trips possible.
