Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor (TCIS) (38474) at Urban Engineers

Urban Engineers is seeking qualified individuals in Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Erie, Allentown, Scranton, Mechanicsburg/Harrisburg, State College, Altoona, and Williamsport, to join the Construction Management Department as Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisors (TCIS-1 and TCIS-2) for highway construction projects. Details on pay, sign-on bonus, and benefits are provided below.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect highways and bridges, ensuring construction conforms to plans and specifications.
  • Document daily field activities performed by contractors, representing the client.
  • Maintain daily communication between inspection team, contractor, and client.
  • Supervise inspection staff.
  • Additional tasks may include project site reports, electronic documentation, payment processing, work authorization issuance, and schedule monitoring.
Minimum Requirements
  • Previous experience as a TCI on PennDOT projects, or six years of transportation/highway/bridge construction inspection supervision/management experience, or five years of transportation highway construction inspection experience.
  • Certifications: NICET Level III (Highway Construction), NECEPT Asphalt, NECEPT/PennDOT Concrete.
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or similar (can substitute for four years of experience).
  • PE license can substitute for experience.
Additional Requirements
  • PennDOT ECMS v3 and PPCC experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills for reviewing drawings and completing documentation.
  • Ability to navigate construction sites in various terrains and weather conditions.
  • Work hours may include day, night, and weekend shifts.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Own vehicle and valid driver’s license required; mileage reimbursement provided.
Compensation and Locations

Pay Rate: $31.05 - $35.50/hour, depending on experience.

Locations include Erie, Scranton, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Mechanicsburg, Allentown, State College, Williamsport, and Altoona, PA.
