Job summary

CDR Maguire Inc. seeks a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor for a major Montgomery County project involving SR 4004 reconstruction and realignment of Eagleville and Crawford Roads.

You will supervise inspectors, coordinate with contractors and engineers, and ensure compliance with contract documents and safety plans. The role requires BS Civil Engineering, NICET Level 2+ in Transportation/Highway Construction, NECPT bituminous, PennDOT/CDS and OSHA 10 certifications, with ECMS

Qualifications

• BS Civil Engineering required; technical qualification in highway construction.
• NICET Level 2+ in Transportation/Highway Construction or higher.
• Bituminous field certification (NECEPT) required.
• Concrete field technician certification (ACI/PennDOT) required.
• CDS certification (PennDOT/PTC) required.
• ECMS experience; OSHA 10-Hour certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult with contractors, consultants, engineers, and job superintendents on plans, specs, materials, equipment and safety.
• Prepare daily progress reports and maintain progress schedules.
• Check shop drawings and quotations for variations; track quantities and costs.
• Supervise staff of inspectors as needed.
• Travel as required to project sites and meetings.

Job description

CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor for the reconstruction of Sr 4004 and realignment of Eagleville Road and Crawford Road to form a four leg intersection project in Montgomery County for an immediate opening.

The Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor (TCIS) is responsible for consulting with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work. The TCIS prepares daily progress reports and maintains progress schedules; checks shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variations; keeps records of quantities and cost of materials used; prepares contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommends payment. TCIS may supervise a staff of inspectors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ensure compliance with the contract documents by the contractor.
• Ensure compliance with the contractor’s health and safety plan.
• Check that delivered materials conform to the contract documents.
• Check contractor’s layout and verify accuracy.
• Prepare and submit daily reports of work performed in accordance with CDR Maguire’s and Owner’s requirements.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Follow and convey instructions.
• Utilize computers and common office equipment.
• Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, sit, and stand.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Wear required personal protective gear/equipment.
• React to hazardous warnings and signals.
• Infrequently perform manual labor.
• Infrequently work in adverse weather conditions.
• Limited exposure to chemicals.

OTHER PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Travel as required and as it relates to above duties or as directed by supervisor.
• Provide positive attitude to establish competence and pride in the company.
• Other duties which may be required which are commensurate with the position.

High school diploma, GED, or post secondary education and can read, write, and communicate in English and do basic math computations for length, area, and volume.

The following certifications are required or combination thereof:

BS Civil Engineering

NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction

NECEPT Bituminous field certification

ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician certification

PennDOT/PTC CDS certification

ECMS experience

OSHA 10-Hour certification
