Senior Construction Inspector - Road/Bridge

Ranked #50 on Engineering News-Record's Top 500 Design Firms, JMT is seeking an Inspector III for its Trenton Construction Management Team.

Responsibilities include:

1. Supervising project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance with plans, specifications, and standards.
2. Managing and scheduling inspection staff across all project phases.
3. Maintaining accurate project documentation, ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and diversity policies.
4. Preparing and reviewing inspection reports, work authorizations, and estimates.
5. Communicating non-compliance issues and corrective actions to contractors.
6. Analyzing contractor schedules and tracking project progress.
7. Participating in pre-bid, pre-construction, and management meetings, and assisting with estimates, change orders, and field issues.
8. Interacting with the public, agencies, contractors, and internal teams to address inquiries.
9. Drafting correspondence, facilitating meetings, and resolving field issues on behalf of the client.

Qualifications include:

• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers.
• Active driver's license and successful completion of JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.
• High school diploma or equivalent, NICET III certification, and 5-10 years of construction inspection experience.
• Client-required certifications such as NJSAT, ACI, TCC, OSHA.
• Knowledge of construction techniques, reading plans, and supervision experience.

Preferred:

• Experience with NJTA, NJDOT, and local clients.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering.

Work conditions:

Fieldwork involving physical activity such as bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting up to 25 lbs, in various weather conditions.
