Transportation Construction Inspector 2 - (183540)

In the role of Transportation Construction Inspector B, you'll be responsible for:

  • Conducting and documenting observations of civil construction projects, including roads, bridges, transit, rail, and environmental projects.
  • Collaborating with Inspectors, Construction Managers, Engineers, and Project Managers.
  • Reading and interpreting construction plans, shop drawings, specifications, and contract documents, and identifying discrepancies.
  • Tracking and maintaining project materials documentation.
  • Performing routine material testing on concrete, soils, and other materials.
  • Providing guidance to less-experienced field staff.
  • Ensuring quality control tasks are monitored and documented for contract compliance.
  • Working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Performing additional duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical school, associate, or bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management.
  • Valid Driver's license and clean motor vehicle report.
  • Client-required Certifications.
  • Proficiency with PlanGrid, Site Manager, AWP, and other project management software.
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules; Primavera P6 experience is a plus.
  • Local candidates preferred.

This position requires a governmental background check and preemployment drug testing.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Successful passing of drug screening prior to employment; ongoing random testing.
