Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks a Transportation Construction Inspector A to perform on-site observations and documentation for civil infrastructure projects in the Virginia region.

You will monitor progress, coordinate field sampling and testing, and work under supervision from a Senior Inspector while performing related duties. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic MS Office skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is preferred.
• Strong written communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.”

In the role of Transportation Construction Inspector A, we'll count on you to:

• Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to civil infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, transit, rail and environmental projects.
• Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects
• Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and performing in-place soil compaction testing
• Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical school, associate or bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management.
• Some demonstrated experience in construction inspection.
• Relevant client requested Certifications.
• Ability to interpret construction schedules.
• Local candidates preferred

Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) Maryland: $49,319 - $70,455, Washington DC: $56,364 - $80,520. Virginia: $46,218 -$83,400.
