CDR Maguire Inc., a multi-disciplinary engineering firm, is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors for projects around the Greater Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, PA area, PennDOT District 4, for the upcoming full construction season in 2025.

Relocation or sponsorship is not available. Local candidates are highly desirable.

The Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI) is responsible for consulting with contractors, engineers, and project managers on matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, safety, and methods involved in construction and installation of work. The TCI prepares daily progress reports, maintains schedules, checks shop drawings and quotations, keeps records of materials and costs, and processes payment claims.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ensure compliance with contract documents and safety plans.
• Verify materials, layout, and accuracy of work performed.
• Prepare and submit daily work reports.
• Communicate effectively in oral and written forms.
• Follow instructions and utilize office equipment and computers.
• Perform physical activities such as bending, kneeling, sitting, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Wear personal protective equipment and react to safety signals.
• Occasionally perform manual labor and work in adverse weather conditions.

OTHER DUTIES:

• Travel within the Greater Scranton area as required.
• Maintain a positive attitude and professionalism.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education, with the ability to read, write, communicate in English, and perform basic math.

Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
• NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction.
• NECEPT Bituminous field certification.
• ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician certification.
• PennDOT/PTC CDS certification.
• ECMS experience.
• OSHA 10-Hour certification.
