Job Description

CDR Maguire Inc., a multi-disciplinary engineering firm, is seeking experienced Transportation Construction Inspectors for projects in PennDOT District 6, Montgomery County, for the upcoming 2025 construction season in Pennsylvania. CDR offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects, career progression opportunities, and competitive benefits.

Relocation and Sponsorship are not available. Local candidates highly desirable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ensure compliance with the contract documents by the contractor.
• Consult with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others regarding plans, specifications, materials, equipment, methods, practices, and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work.
• Prepare daily progress reports and maintain progress schedules.
• Check shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variations.
• Maintain records of quantities and costs of materials used.
• Prepare contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommend payments.

OTHER PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Travel as required related to the above duties or as directed by supervisor.
• Maintain a positive attitude to establish competence and pride in the company.
• Perform other duties as required and appropriate for the position.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required. Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree is a plus.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, and perform basic math computations related to length, area, and volume.
• Minimum of one (1) year PennDOT experience or higher, or a minimum of two (2) years of transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection experience.
• Four (4) years of highway or bridge construction, non-highway or bridge inspection, or highway or bridge design experience. Non-inspection personnel must successfully complete the twelve (12) web-based TCI training modules to substitute for other required experience.
• Civil Engineering or Construction degree can substitute for required experience.
• Bachelor's of Science degree in a non-Civil Engineering field with the successful completion of the twelve (12) web-based TCI training modules can substitute for experience.

Certifications:

• NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction
• NECEPT Bituminous Field Certification
• ACI/PennDOT Concrete Field Technician Certification
• PennDOT/PTC CDS Certification
• ECMS experience
• OSHA 10-Hour Certification
