Job summary

Management Engineering Corporation (MEC) is seeking full-time Transportation Construction Inspectors (TCI-1 or higher) to work on heavy highway, bridge, airport runways and taxiways projects in the western PA area. Candidates should have field inspection experience and the ability to read plans and specifications.

The role requires proficiency in MS Office, Acrobat, and cloud tools, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work independently or in a team while making technical decisions.

Qualifications

• Three years of transportation, highway, or bridge inspection experience, or at least one year as a PennDOT TCI-1 or higher.
• Associates Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Ability to read and interpret construction codes, plans, standards, and specifications.
• Ability to perform required cost estimating, computations and calculations.
• Ability to work independently and make technical decisions.
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally.
• Proficient in MS Office products (specifically Word &Excel), Adobe Acrobat and cloud-based systems such as Box and iPads.
• Must be physically able to do field work and have a valid drivers license

MEC is looking for Full-time TRANSPORTATION CONSTRUCTION INSPECTORS (TCI-1 or higher) with experience working on heavy highway, bridge, airport runways & taxiways and other transportation construction projects. The positions will located within the western PA area.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of procedures and techniques used in performing tests on construction materials.
• Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in the collection/evaluation of technical data.
• Ability to read and interpret construction codes, plans, standards, and specifications.

• Ability to work independently and make technical decisions.
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

• Three (3) years of transportation, highway or bridge construction inspection experience or at least one-year experience as a PennDOT TCI-1 or higher OR
• Associates Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related field

CERTIFICATIONS: must have at least one of the following

• PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification
• NECEPT Field Technician Certification
• NICET Level II Certification or higher in Highway Construction
