Responsibilities
  • Provide commercial support on resolving project issues, including application of contract provisions, working with technical and legal experts, and making recommendations for strategies and solutions for resolution.
  • Draft and co-draft technical memos, policy papers, and issue analyses to codify recommendations, contract positions or resolution documents.
  • Review correspondence and work with various members of the project team and the owner to develop responses and draft proposals.
  • Oversee the project team’s review of technical and administrative submittal responses, participate in meetings, review reports and minutes, and coordinate project communication using a variety of methods.
  • Assist in the resolution of potential change orders, dispute resolution, and provide claims, formal dispute, and litigation support.
  • Perform administrative audits, including process and product audits, to identify procedural noncompliance and nonconforming work, opportunities for improvement, and necessary corrective and preventative actions.
  • Review and audit subcontracts, insurance and bonding provisions and subcontracting procedures.
  • Mentor and train the project team on contract interpretation, contract policy application, communication, documentation, and risk management.
  • Recommend revisions to contract policies, strategies, and provisions, and draft corresponding contract provisions; present recommendations in written report format.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Legal Studies or related field.
  • 15 years of project management, contract drafting & negotiation, construction claims resolution, or related experience.
Desired Skills
  • High level of initiative and proactiveness in mitigating risks and recognizing resolutions.
  • Proficiency in complex document interpretation, analysis, problem‑solving, and communication.
  • Decision‑making ability that can impact policies, procedures or the achievement of strategic goals, project costs and risk exposure.
  • Excellent writing, editing, verbal and presentation skills.
Preferred
  • Juris Doctor or related advanced degree in Legal Studies, Business, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Project leadership role requiring engagement with and direction to all other project managers and staff.
