Job summary

Booker T Washington Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility in SHREVEPORT, LA is seeking a dependable Van Driver to transport residents to medical appointments and activities, ensuring safety and comfort during every trip.

You will assist residents getting in and out, secure seats, maintain the vehicle, complete inspection forms, follow policies, and communicate any delays or maintenance needs to the Administrator or supervisor.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Louisiana driver's license.
• Must maintain a clean driving record.
• Previous experience transporting elderly or disabled individuals preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from appointments.
• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle.
• Ensure residents are secured with seat belts and safety equipment.

Washington Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility is seeking a dependable, responsible, and compassionate Van Driver to provide safe transportation for residents to and from medical appointments, activities, and other approved destinations. The ideal candidate must demonstrate patience, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to resident safety and well-being.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, scheduled activities, and other approved destinations.
• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle as needed.
• Ensure residents are properly secured with seat belts and other safety equipment.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and well-maintained facility vehicle.
• Complete required vehicle inspection forms and transportation logs.
• Follow all traffic laws and facility transportation policies.
• Communicate appointment delays, changes, and transportation concerns to the appropriate department.
• Demonstrate patience, courtesy, and professionalism when interacting with residents, families, and staff.
• Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or safety concerns immediately.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the Administrator or designated supervisor.
