Job Description

CDM Smith currently has a new opportunity for a Client Service Leader to lead our transportation practice in Texas. In this position, you will work with a dynamic team to continue building our transportation Construction Engineering and Inspection (CE&I) business. You will lead the development of a business strategy to increase sales with our existing clients and to develop new clients across Texas. This position leads business development activities, oversees overall client service, represents CDM Smith on CE&I related boards or organizations, and serves as a leader in your office and throughout the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Develop new business and maintain high-value relationships with key districts and divisions of TXDOT, toll authorities such as HCTRA and NTTA, and other local/regional clients where opportunities exist.
  • Develop and manage client teams that include project managers, technical specialists, national leaders, and junior staff to develop strategic capture plans, proposal efforts, presentations, and other business development activities.
  • Serve as a key member of the strategy team promoting growth in Texas and supporting other West US growth initiatives.
  • Act as a technical or project lead on significant size and strategically important projects as needed.
  • Be active in professional societies in which clients or potential clients are members.
  • Be a strong internal and external leader.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 12 years of related experience.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties and responsibilities.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in transportation engineering business development, assisting with the proposal process and presenting/meeting with TXDOT, HCTRA, and other toll agencies.
  • PE and/or other transportation related certifications.
  • Extensive transportation CE&I experience with a demonstrated ability to lead and successfully serve clients.
  • Excellent communication, networking and team building skills.
  • Strong experience meeting and working with Texas transportation agencies.
Skills & Abilities
  • Expert knowledge of corporate governance practices, organization design principles, accounting principles, finance, supply chain management, and organization management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand highly complex technical, professional and business materials.

  • USD $120,973.00
  • USD $211,723.00
