Job summary

Qualifications

• Four or five years of civil engineering experience or equivalent combinations of education and experience as detailed in the qualifications.
• Engineer-in-Training certification or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Design preparation: 3D model development and drawings for roadway projects.
• Compute grade lines, curve data, drainage needs, earthwork quantities.
• Produce detailed plans using CADD tools from preliminary layouts to final drawings.
• Field support: take notes, measurements, and reference sketches.
• Apply survey notes, aerial photos, and engineering data to support designs.
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or closely related engineering discipline

Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists

Associate’s degree in civil engineering technology or closely related engineering discipline

Civil Engineer Trainee training program (Commonwealth title or equivalent Federal Government title)
