Job summary

Croasdaile Village is seeking a dedicated driver to transport residents by bus or van on scheduled routes. You will ensure safety, maintain vehicle cleanliness, and provide compassionate service in a retirement community setting.

The role requires a valid NC CDL and a willingness to follow transport procedures, with Sunday–Thursday shifts and a 9:30am–6:00pm schedule. Training and comprehensive benefits are provided to qualified staff.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid North Carolina CDL.
• One year certificate from college or technical school, or 3–6 months related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Drive bus or van to transport residents on scheduled routes.
• Maintain a caring, professional relationship with residents.
• Fill vans and buses with gas, check oil, and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Report unusual conditions or resident complaints to nursing supervisor.
• Interact courteously with residents, families, visitors, coworkers and supervisors.

Summary

Drives bus or van to transport residents over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Provide transportation services when scheduled or on an emergency basis for residents.
• Maintain and facilitate a caring, compassionate and understanding relationship with residents.
• As required, fill vans and buses with gas, check oil level, maintain vehicles' cleanliness and advise their supervisor of any necessary preventative or scheduled maintenance needs.
• The staff person will report all unusual conditions, behaviors, and/or resident complaints to the appropriate nursing supervisor.
• The employee will respond and react in a kind, polite and professional manner to the residents, families, visitors, coworkers, and supervisors.
• The employees will be responsible for protecting any confidential information concerning residents, family and/or the organization.
• Employee is expected to adhere to all organizational, departmental, and transportation procedures in the performance of the position responsibilities.
• The employee will be responsible to learn and schedule daily transportation runs as directed.
• The employee will be required to clean the inside and outside of all vehicles when not on a scheduled trip.
• The assigned employee must attend organizational or departmental conferences and/or in-services as scheduled.
• The employee is required to perform other duties in keeping with the nature of this position, which will not significantly alter the job requirements.
• The individual must have an acceptable driver record and must report any changes in their driver's record to their supervisor.
• The employee is expected to follow all traffic signs and obey laws.
• The assigned driver must report damaged equipment, including vehicle, lift or safety system immediately to their supervisor.
• The employee is required to conduct a vehicle maintenance audit/check to include various safety checks to include adequate fuel levels.
• The employee must be registered and approved by the facility's insurance company.
• Must interact courteously, tactfully and politely with managers, co-workers, residents, vendors or associates to preserve productivity and moral.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
