Metro Associates is seeking a Transportation & Highway Technical Manager in Upstate New York. You will provide senior technical leadership on highway design, guide staff, and ensure high-quality delivery for NYSDOT and local clients.

As a Technical Manager, you will lead design, oversee QA, and drive continuous improvement while mentoring teams and shaping project strategy for impactful transportation infrastructure across the region.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and PE licensure preferred.
• 8–15 years in transportation, roadway, or highway engineering.
• Experience leading staff and mentoring engineering teams.

Transportation & Highway Technical Manager – Civil Engineering

our client is seeking a Transportation & Highway Technical Manager / Civil Engineer to provide senior-level technical leadership on highway and roadway design projects throughout Upstate New York. This role is ideal for an experienced Civil Engineer or Transportation Engineer who is passionate about transportation infrastructure, roadway design, and mentoring engineering teams.

As a Technical Manager, you will lead hands-on highway and roadway design, guide engineering staff, and ensure high-quality project delivery for clients including NYSDOT and local municipalities.

• Stay current with transportation design trends and emerging technologies, integrating them into project solutions.

What You Bring, Your Expertise as a Transportation & Highway Technical Manager

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
• 8-15 years’ experience in transportation, roadway, or highway engineering
• Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred or ability to obtain it
• Prior staff management preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office; MicroStation preferred
• Familiarity with NYSDOTdesign standards preferred
