Base pay range

$58,000.00/yr - $62,000.00/yr

The Transportation Analyst is responsible for working with day-to-day operations of all things transportation-related. The Transportation specialist will help ensure that all transportation records and best practices are being executed at all times to mitigate any risks for TOTO. This role will work with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and consultants to adhere to customs regulations during the execution of international shipments and importation of raw materials and finished goods. This position relies on sound judgment to ensure the achievement of corporate business objectives and operational goals. Responsible for interacting with all business segments and functional groups to ensure compliance with import/export regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain day-to-day correspondence with transportation-related partners (JBHU, BullDawg Trucking, FedEx, UPS, 3PL, and all other related parties).
  • Responsible for review and resolution of shipping discrepancies including but not limited to: Mis-delivered freight, discrepancy reports, JBHU shipment errors, 3PL shipment errors, aged shipment audits and reporting, and claims.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining the “freight problems worksheet” to ensure that all issues are resolved and freight is delivered or claim is filed accordingly.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining the “special freight services worksheet” to ensure that TUS can provide PODs to Claims for liftgate, driver assist, detention, bobtail, layover, and residential/inside delivery.
  • Monitor and maintain shipment status reports through various partners including but not limited to: FedEx aging & exception reports, DHL late shipment & outbound status reports, and all other related transportation reports.
  • Monitors daily transportation operations and assists with OS&D issues, resolution, and claims mitigation efforts.
  • Monitor and record seal breaks & discrepancies utilizing Dropbox.
  • Creates and provides support to the continuous improvement and cost reduction/mitigation initiatives related to transportation including, but not limited to document revisions of internal controls and procedures.
  • Assists with responses to transportation-related data inquiries from internal/external partners and customers, foreign subsidiaries, distributors, vendors, brokers, and carriers.
  • Assists with parcel carrier interactions, set up new users, coordinate training as needed, provide invoice copies/cost of shipments, and monitor past due invoices (coordinate with VTM).
  • Assists with maintaining strong relationships with all internal and external partners.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job currently has no supervisory responsibilities (No direct reports to this position). Subject to change.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience in the field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with, and/or significant knowledge of US transportation regulations, US Export/Import Regulations, international business practices, and transportation laws is desirable.
  • Possess excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Must be a team player and self-starter; high bias toward action.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage projects, prioritize work, and handle complex tasks.
  • Significant computer experience including MS Office products and ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and a desire to consistently perform at the highest levels of competence.
  • Superb interpersonal, communication, writing, and editing skills and the ability to learn quickly, work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
