Job summary

Wellspring Senior Living Campus in Saginaw is seeking a Driver on a per diem, contingent basis. The role involves transporting residents to outings and events while ensuring safety, comfort, and engagement. You will be a friendly, reliable presence in the daily lives of our residents.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or equivalent and a valid Michigan CDL-P (Passenger endorsement). A clean driving record and prior experience with older adults or transportation are helpful.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Michigan CDL-P (Passenger endorsement) class C or B - this is required.
• Clean driving record and ability to meet organizational driving requirements.
• Experience driving multi-passenger vans, buses, or similar vehicles is preferred.
• Previous experience working with older adults, customer service, transportation, or activity programs is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation for residents to community events and outings.
• Ensure trips are comfortable and engaging with a friendly attitude.
• Support resident independence by removing transportation barriers to participation in activities.
• Coordinate transportation needs with activities and other departments to deliver excellent service.
• Observe residents during transportation and report changes to the care team for safety and well-being.
• Represent Wellspring Lutheran Services with professionalism and compassion on every trip.

At Wellspring Skilled Nursing & Rehab, we're looking for a Driver who understands that every trip is an opportunity to provide comfort, connection, and exceptional service.

As a Driver, you'll transport residents to outings and community events while helping ensure every trip is safe, comfortable, and enjoyable. You'll often be one of the first people residents interact with as they begin an important part of their day, and your kindness, patience, and professionalism will leave a lasting impression.

You'll become an important member of the hospitality team, helping people remain active, engaged, and connected to the world around them.

Most importantly, you'll help residents continue doing the things that matter most to them.

What Your Impact Will Look Like

You'll provide safe and reliable transportation for residents attending community events and recreational outings.

You'll help residents feel comfortable and supported during trips, recognizing that a friendly conversation and caring attitude can make all the difference.

You'll support resident independence by helping ensure transportation barriers don't prevent participation in activities and experiences.

You'll work closely with activities and other departments to coordinate transportation needs and ensure residents receive excellent service.

You'll observe residents during transportation and communicate important changes or concerns to the care team, helping support resident safety and well-being.

You'll help create positive experiences for residents and families while representing Wellspring Lutheran Services with professionalism and compassion.

Schedule

• Per Diem, Contingent with possibility for more hours
• Flexible schedule needed, with availability during morning and afternoon hours preferred.
• Availability to work 2-3 weekend days per month for activity transport
