Job summary

River Bend Health and Rehab is seeking a responsible and compassionate Transportation Aide (CNA) to safely transport residents to medical appointments, community outings, and other designated locations. This role is vital in supporting the health and well‑being of our residents while representing the facility in a courteous and professional manner.

Responsibilities include assisting residents in and out of vehicles, maintaining logs, ensuring vehicle readiness, and following infection control

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Current CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in a healthcare or senior care setting preferred.
• Ability to lift, push, and assist residents using mobility aids.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from scheduled appointments and outings using facility-owned vehicles.
• Assist residents in and out of the vehicle, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.
• Monitor resident condition during transport and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate transportation logs and appointment schedules.
• Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and maintained in safe operating condition.
• Follow proper infection control and safety procedures.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, family members, and facility staff.
• Provide support to the activities department or other areas when transportation duties are not scheduled.
