Job summary

River Bend Health and Rehabilitation in Asheville, NC is seeking a compassionate Transportation Aide CNA to safely move residents to appointments and activities, always prioritizing safety and comfort.

As a CNA with driving credentials, you will work with nursing staff to monitor residents during transport, keep logs, and uphold infection control while providing excellent care. This role offers a supportive team, competitive pay, and opportunities for advancement within the facility.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
• Valid NC driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Current CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience in healthcare or senior care setting preferred.
• Must be able to lift, push, and assist residents using mobility aids.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Patience, dependability, and a caring attitude toward elderly and disabled individuals.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from scheduled appointments and outings using facility-owned vehicles.
• Assist residents in and out of the vehicle, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.
• Monitor resident condition during transport and report any concerns to nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate transportation logs and appointment schedules.
• Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and maintained in safe operating condition.
• Follow proper infection control and safety procedures.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, family members, and facility staff.
• Provide support to the activities department or other areas when transportation duties are not scheduled.
