Job summary

Davies North America is seeking an Auto Transportation Claims Adjuster in Michigan to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve commercial transportation claims.

You will handle BI, PIP, and other related exposures, performing independent coverage analysis and contributing to strategy decisions while collaborating with clients, insureds, attorneys, and providers to ensure timely resolutions.

Qualifications

• Active MI claims adjusting licenses (or reciprocal).
• Strong knowledge of liability claims handling practices.

We’re seeking an Auto Transportation Claims Adjuster who brings strong technical expertise, sound judgement, and a proactive approach to managing auto and trucking liability claims.

The Auto Transportation Claims Adjuster is responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving commercial transportation‑related claims in accordance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements. Claims may include Bodily Injury (BI), Personal Injury Protection (PIP), and other exposures arising from transportation operations.

This role handles claims of increasing complexity depending on level and collaborates with clients, insureds, attorneys, medical providers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate claim resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• 5+ years of auto transportation claims experience.
• Manages moderate complexity claims involving BI and PIP exposures.
• Conducts more independent coverage analysis and claim strategy decisions.
• May handle files with attorney representation and moderate litigation activity.
• Demonstrates developing expertise in transportation claims.

Skills, knowledge & expertise

• Must have active MI claims adjusting licenses or reciprocal. (NY a plus)
• Strong knowledge of liability claims handling practices.
• Experience handling BI, PIP, or auto transportation-related claims preferred.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple claims while maintaining quality and service standards.
• Proficiency with claims management systems and related technology.

Preferred

• Exposure to high‑exposure or litigated claims
• Familiarity with multi‑party liability claims
• Multi‑state claims handling experience
