Job summary

Allure of Stockton is seeking a Transportation Driver to provide safe, comfortable transportation for residents to hospitals, clinics, dialysis centers, and homes. You will assist with boarding, seating, wheelchairs, and groceries; monitor resident safety during trips, and perform vehicle inspections.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois driver's license is required.
• Class C license with passenger endorsement for 15+ passengers.
• Class E license for vehicles with up to 14 passengers.
• DOT compliant medical examination.
• Annual physician's statement for drivers 71–74 transporting 15+ passengers.
• Experience as a bus or van driver preferred.
• CNA license preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Writing and computer skills used for reports and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Transport residents to and from hospitals, clinics, dialysis centers, and residences.
• Assist residents with boarding, seating, and securing wheelchairs or walkers.
• Monitor safety and well-being during trips and at pickup/drop-off.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean.
• Report hazardous conditions, defective equipment, and incidents to the supervisor.
• Communicate with the facility about schedules and any changes.
• Use GPS, radio, or cell to navigate and log activities.
• Maintain accurate activity and vehicle logs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Transportation Driver

Job Summary:

We're seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Transportation Driver to join our team at Allure of Stockton. As a key member of our transportation team, you will provide the safe and comfortable transportation of patients to and from hospitals, medical offices, dialysis centers, and private residences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide a high level of customer service while transporting residents to and from activities, appointments, and other outings
• Provide assistance to residents, including boarding and leaving the bus, securing wheelchairs and walkers, and assistance with groceries and packages
• Monitor resident safety at all times, ensuring their well-being while on the bus, during pick-up and drop-off, and at entrance and exit points
• Conduct daily vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
• Follow all safety procedures and protocols, reporting hazardous conditions, defective equipment, and accidents or incidents to the supervisor immediately
• Communicate effectively with the facility regarding schedule progress and receive additional instructions
• Operate GPS, Two-Way Radio, and/or Cell Phone to navigate effectively
• Maintain accurate activity and vehicle report logs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Active Illinois Driver's License required
• Class C license with a passenger endorsement for vehicles that transport 15 or more passengers
• Class E license for vehicles that transport 14 or fewer passengers
• DOT compliant physical
• Annual physician's statement for drivers between the ages of 71 and 74 who drive vehicles that transport 15 or more passengers
• Experience as a bus or van driver preferred
• CNA License Preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
• Writing and computer skills required for completing reports and scheduling

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
• Must be able to push/pull up to 275 pounds to a minimum distance of 50 feet
• May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
• The employee is in and out of a vehicle daily and exposed to outdoor weather conditions that vary
• The employee is sometimes subject to emotionally upset residents or family members
