Qualifications

• Florida EMT Certification required.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
• 2+ years of driving experience, insurable by the hospital.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to assigned transports providing high standards of care.
• Ensure safe ground ambulance transport of patients.
• Assist in trauma center and emergency department as needed.

Skills

Ability to learn and adapt to new equipment

Ability to work in highly stressful situations

Customer relations and organization skills

Adherence to Hospital Policy and Florida Department of Emergency Medical Services guidelines

Familiarity with Advanced Life Support patient care equipment

Knowledge of pathophysiology related to cardiac, pulmonary, renal, and neurological systems

Understanding of communication equipment

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Associate's degree (preferred)
