Job summary

Mecklenburg Health and Rehabilitation in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Transportation Driver who will safely transport residents to appointments using the facility's van. A CNA certification and a valid driver's license with clean record are required.

• Current valid driver’s license with no serious infractions.
• Must pass drug screen and criminal background check.
• CNA certification is required. Experience in customer service, transportation and healthcare are preferred. Training will be offered on-site regardless of level of experience.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients by assisting patients in and out of vans/vehicles; lifting patients on and off beds; moving them to and from special service and treatment areas, using wheelchairs or moveable beds.
• Communicates with outside entities with excellent customer service.
• Comforts patients and their families by offering support and encouragement; being punctual and attentive to procedure schedules; demonstrating caring and sensitivity.
• Transports equipment and supplies by picking up requisitioned orders; delivering them to assigned treatment areas and patient care areas.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with federal and state legal regulations.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
• Handle sensitive patient information with proper respect or privacy.
• Ensuring all residents have a safe transportation experience.
• Engage in training upon hire and ongoing to ensure up-to-date knowledge of current safety practices.

Mecklenburg Health and Rehabilitation is looking for an outstanding Transportation Driver to join our team of healthcare professionals. Candidate must also be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

This role is vital to our residents' well-being, health and safety. The Transportation Driver is responsible for transporting residents to and from appointments in the community using the Mecklenburg Health & Rehabilitation’s branded van. Must be comfortable working with the elderly and disabled and have excellent customer service skills. Must be punctual and professional.
