Job summary

The Valley Hospital in Paramus, NJ is seeking a Per Diem Patient Transport Assistant to safely move patients, personal effects, requisitions, specimens, and charts. Shift Day; 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; hours and weekends vary based on department needs.

This role requires no previous experience and a high school diploma with strong English communication. You will interact with patients and health care staff, communicate clearly, and adapt to changing workloads with attention to detail and composure

Qualifications

• Good communication with patients, families and health care team.

Schedule: Per diem position with variable hours based on departmental needs. Scheduled hours- 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; scheduled days will vary. Weekend coverage may be required as needed.

Position Summary

To provide safe transport of patients, personal effects, requisitions, specimens, charts, and miscellaneous items and assist with patient transport activities as required.

Skills

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Good communication skills to communicate and interact with patient, family members, and other members of the health care team and respond quickly to customer's needs. Ability to pay attention to details, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
