Qualifications

• ABS certification in general surgery or its foreign equivalent.
• ASTS-approved two-year transplantation fellowship completed by start.
• Accreditation of fellowship in liver and kidney transplantation is mandatory.
• UNOS qualification for living donor liver transplantation is preferred.
• Experience in living donor nephrectomy is preferred.
• Must present up-to-date surgical case logs on request.
• Must commit to teaching residents and medical students.
• Include three professional references in CV.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the academic and research missions of the Tulane Department of Surgery.
• Provide clinical duties at East Jefferson General Hospital and New Orleans Children’s Hospital.
• Educate residents and medical students in a busy transplant program.
• Perform liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants; participate in organ donation using NRP and pump technology.
• Take a leadership role in living donor transplantation.
