Job summary

Qualifications

• ABS certification in general surgery or its foreign equivalent.
• ASTS-approved two-year transplantation fellowship completed by the commence date at Tulane University.
• Fellowship in liver and kidney transplantation must be accredited; UNOS qualification preferred for living donor liver transplantation surgeon.
• Living donor nephrectomy experience preferred.
• Able to present up-to-date surgery case logs during fellowship and current practice on request.
• Committed to teaching residents and medical students.
• Three professional references must be included in CV.

Responsibilities

• Participate in both the academic and research missions of the Tulane Department of Surgery.
• Clinical duties at East Jefferson General Hospital and New Orleans Children’s Hospital; educate residents and medical students.
• Perform liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants and contribute to organ donation using NRP and organ pump technology.
• Leadership role in living liver donation is highly desirable.
