Job Description

Under the general direction of the Director of Transplant Operations, the Social Work Manager provides leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for transplant social work services across all solid organ transplant programs and living donation. This position is responsible for the management, supervision, and professional development of the transplant social work team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality psychosocial care throughout the transplant continuum. The Social Work Manager collaborates with multidisciplinary leaders to support program goals, optimize patient outcomes, promote equitable access to transplantation, and ensure adherence to organizational, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.

The Social Work Manager oversees clinical practice standards, workforce planning, quality improvement initiatives, operational workflows, and regulatory compliance related to transplant psychosocial services. Responsibilities include developing and implementing policies and procedures, monitoring performance metrics, facilitating interdisciplinary care coordination, managing complex psychosocial issues, and fostering partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. This position serves as a key resource for transplant teams, patients, families, and living donors while advancing evidence-based practice, staff engagement, and continuous process improvement across all transplant programs.

Additional Job Description
  • Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) is required
  • Work Experience: 7 years progressive work experience and 2 years management experience
  • State licensure and/or professional certification requirement/s dependent on position. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
