Job summary

Mayo Clinic Jacksonville is seeking an RN to coordinate nursing care, provide direct patient care and education, and facilitate transitions of care. The role supports nursing practice across the continuum of care and utilizes the Mayo Clinic Nursing Practice Model.

The RN will demonstrate leadership, effective communication, and strong critical thinking while working with a team in a dynamic hospital setting. Flexibility for varied shifts and on-call duties is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program.
• RN license by applicable state requirements.
• Evidence of program completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing within five years from RN start date (post-April 1, 2020).
• One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends and on-call.
• Demonstrated leadership, effective communication, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, education and transitions of care.
• Support professional nursing practice across settings and continuum of care.
• Provide leadership through preceptor roles and quality improvement efforts.
• Delegate patient care according to skill level, experience, acuity and resources.
