Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is recruiting a full-time Transplant Psychologist for our abdominal organ transplant program. You will perform specialized psychological assessments, consultations, and treatments for patients evaluated for or receiving liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants, as well as donor evaluations.

Work with transplant physicians, surgeons, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, and dietitians in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in psychology (APA-accredited) required.
• Licensed or licensure-eligible in Massachusetts.
• Experience with medically complex patients preferred (solid organ transplantation, living donation, health psychology).

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-transplant and living donor psychological evaluations.
• Assess psychosocial and behavioral factors affecting transplant candidacy and outcomes.
• Develop evidence-based treatment recommendations for candidates, recipients, and donors.
• Provide psychological interventions and participate in multidisciplinary selection meetings.
• Contribute to development of behavioral health services within the Transplant Institute.
