Job summary

Getinge in Columbus, OH is seeking a Transplant Patient Advocate to support transplant readiness and overflow call handling for Paragonix transplant partners. You will screen, answer, and route calls following hospital workflows and Paragonix Transplant Services policies.

You will review EMR for transplant readiness, coordinate needs with patients, coordinators, and physicians, and help train new coordinators while contributing to triage quality initiatives. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-stress, customer-facing roles.
• Knowledge of transplant workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer, screen, and direct patient overflow calls according to transplant center workflow.
• Review EMR for transplant readiness and coordinate readiness needs with patients, coordinators, and physicians.
• Assist with training of new coordinators as directed by triage leadership.
• Collaborate on triage-related quality initiatives.
• Provide triage support to transplant coordinators as directed by triage leadership.
• Maintain training and credentials for EMR and OPTN systems.
• Communicate clearly with internal and external staff and patients.
• Be reachable during the 12-hour call shift.
• Document interactions in the OPTN system per established rules.

Paragonix Technologies markets organ transportation devices that safeguard organs during the journey betweendonor and recipient patients. Our devices incorporate clinically proven and medically trusted hypothermic preservation techniques in a novel suspension system to provide unprecedented physical and thermal protection. Our product portfolio spans cardiac, thoracic, and abdominal preservation devices to improve donor organ quality and extend donor organ transport time. Paragonix also markets quality- focused transplant services and organ coordination to the transplant and donation community. Job Overview

The Transplant Patient Advocate aids with transplant readiness, and overflow call support to Paragonix transplant partners. Advocates will answer, screen, and direct patient overflow calls in accordance with provided hospital workflows and while adhering to all Paragonix Transplant Services policies and protocols. Advocates will also proactively assist with ensuring transplant readiness of the transplant partner’s recipients. They will also contribute to patient review and presentation for transplant readiness.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

• Answers, screens, and directs patient overflow calls according to provided transplant center workflow
• Reviews EMR for transplant readiness and coordinates readiness needs to patients, coordinators, and physicians
• Assist with training of new coordinators as directed by triage leadership
• Collaborate on triage related quality initiatives
• Provides triage support to transplant coordinator as directed by triage leadership
• Maintains necessary training and credentials for Paragonix, hospital EMR, and OPTN computer systems.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills with both internal and external staff including relaying clear, concise, and pertinent clinical information.
• Responsible for being reachable by the designated call platform during their 12-hour call shift.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills with transplant center recipients and family members.
• Documentation of transplant center response into the OPTN computer system in accordance with established automatic rule out criteria.

Required Qualifications

• Established history working in high stress/ customer interacting field

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical certificate program or state or national medical certification (i.e. EMT, MA, Phlebotomy, RT)
• Bachelor's degree in health science, general science, or equivalent experience in transplant related field.

US BASED SALARY - The minmum hourly rate for this position is $26, and the maximum hourly rate is $28.
