Northwell Health’s Division of Nephrology is seeking Transplant Nephrologists to join the Northwell Health Transplant Institute located at North Shore University Hospital in Long Island, NY. The position is clinical with teaching responsibilities and research opportunities. There is also an opportunity for qualified individuals to serve as a director for strategic outreach.
The Northwell Health Transplant Institute boasts one of the fastest-growing kidney transplant programs in the country, servicing Long Island and the NY metropolitan area. It includes a nationally recognized kidney transplant program, as well as robust heart, lung, and liver transplant programs. The transplant nephrologist will join a team of 4 transplant nephrologists, over 20 general nephrologists, and a longstanding nephrology fellowship program.
The division is renowned for its expertise in clinical research areas such as kidney transplantation, dialysis, anemia, hyperkalemia, outcomes research, COVID-related AKI, onconephrology, and glomerular diseases.

Candidates should have completed U.S.-based internal medicine residency, general nephrology fellowship, and an advanced year in an AST-certified renal transplant fellowship. They should demonstrate high performance and scientific potential. Evaluation will consider academic accomplishments, clinical training, enthusiasm, and dedication to transplant nephrology. Full-time clinical base compensation ranges from $125K to $750K, influenced by factors such as specialty, experience, academic achievements, patient care, and productivity. This range is a good faith estimate and may be adjusted in the future.
